Discover Borneo & Orang-utan Conservation Volunteer Holiday

A Borneo volunteer holiday gives you the chance to get involved with the conservation of orang-utans by learning about their environment, helping reforestation by getting involved planting seedlings and immature trees, and discovering more about the orang-utans habitat.

Not only will you be able to observe these magnificent creatures in their natural environment but you will also be learning about and helping to preserve that habitat. Sri Lanka Community Volunteer & Beach Holiday

A Sri Lanka volunteer holiday is the perfect way to relax and give something back, with stunning beaches with white sands and crystal clear waters, steamy jungles and awe inspiring scenery. Sri Lanka has it all. Located in Galle, on the south west coast of Sri Lanka, you will have the opportunity to get involved with caring for the community in many ways.

  • We have projects at a deaf blind school, where you can interact with the children and help improve conditions
  • Beach cleaning projects which allow you to help restore some of the badly affected beaches after the devastating Boxing Day tsunami.
  • Working at a home for elderly men
  • House and building reconstruction
  • Teaching at local schools
  • Working with disabled children and so much more...

Leisure activities you can get involved in include:

  • Diving & Snorkelling

A wide coral shelf surrounds Sri Lanka’s coast at intervals, from north to south, providing excellent sites for diving. The blue green, turquoise and aquamarine waters are home to a magical and mysterious underwater world of coral, shells and a fantastic variety of fish. Hikkaduwa is recognised as one of the best locations in Sri Lanka for diving and snorkelling. If you don’t fancy actually getting into the water then glass-bottomed boat trips are also available.

  • Ballooning

Explore the natural beauty of the island in a hot air Balloon. Watch the elephants in their natural habitant without disturbing them, fly over the placid lakes or take a bird's eye view over Sigiriya Rock or a historical ruined city without disturbing the landscape.

  • Cycling

Cycling arguably offers the best way to explore Sri Lanka and a great way to see the real country and gives a proximity to people, cycle in sri lankaculture and landscape that is unparalleled. Cycling through rice fields and villages to see 700-years-old temples is an absorbing experience.

  • The southern coastal cycle route is 240 km in length and is divided into eight segments, which are about 20km to 30km each of two hours unhurried cycling through the real Sri Lanka of prime beach, coconut, rubber and tea plantations, village living and a rich of fauna, flora, and cultural heritage.
