The Kilimanjaro Challenge
2nd-15th October 2010 £2400
The Challenge
You will start off with three days volunteer work in Moshi, at the base of Kilimanjaro, with much needed repairs at a local school. The children at the school are the sons and daughters of the porters and guides who will help make your climb so special. Project work will include refurbishing classrooms, building desks, teaching English and sports, gardening and building.
By the time you have completed your volunteer work, you will be so excited by the prospect of the climb, as during the three days you are likely to be notice the clouds clearing and Kilimanjaro showing its magnificent snow-capped peak on the horizon!
Following the slightly longer and more scenic Machame route to the summit, you will be guaranteed the best chance of successfully reaching the summit. After taking it pole pole (slowly), you will eventually climb to the 5,895m Uhuru peak at dawn to enjoy one of the most amazing sights on earth.
